At the hairdresser
Let’s imagine you want to have a haircut or dye your hair… How would you explain what you want to a Russian hairdresser?
In this lesson, you are going to learn some essential vocabulary to help you with this kind of conversation. The lesson consists of a few typical dialogues.
Dialogue 1
– Здра́вствуйте, я бы хоте́л постри́чься. Э́то возмо́жно сейча́с?
– Ма́стер освободи́тся мину́т че́рез 15, вы подождёте?
– Да, коне́чно.
– Тогда́ приса́живайтесь здесь.
– А ско́лько сто́ит стри́жка?
– Мужска́я стри́жка сто́ит 700 рубле́й.
– Hello, I’d like a have a haircut. Is it possible now?
– The hairdresser will be available in 15 minutes, can you wait?
– Yes, of course.
– Then take a seat here.
– And how much does a haircut cost?
– A men’s haircut costs 700 roubles.
Dialogue 2
– До́брый день. Что мы бу́дем де́лать?
– Я бы хоте́ла чуть-чу́ть подровня́ть во́лосы и обре́зать секу́щиеся ко́нчики.
– Ско́лько обре́зать?
– Сантиме́тра 3-4, не бо́льше.
– Вы хоти́те укла́дку?
– Да, ду́маю да. Вы могли́ бы прида́ть мои́м волоса́м немно́го объёма?
– Good afternoon, what can we do for you?
– I would like to have my hair trimmed and the split ends cut.
– How long do you want to cut off?
– 3 or 4 centimetres, not more.
– Do you want us to style your hair?
– Yes, I think so. Could you give it a bit of volume?
Dialogue 3
– Как вы хоти́те постри́чься?
– Сде́лайте, пожа́луйста, с боко́в покоро́че, а све́рху чуть-чу́ть подровня́йте.
– Хорошо́. Пройдёмте, помо́ем го́лову.
– What kind of haircut do you want?
– Make it shorter on the sides and trim a bit on the top please.
– Ok. Follow me, let’s wash your hair.
Dialogue 4
– Что вы хоти́те сде́лать?
– Я хочу́ покра́сить во́лосы, а то ко́рни уже́ отросли́. Ско́лько э́то бу́дет сто́ить?
– Кра́ска на́ша и́ли у вас своя́?
– Ва́ша.
– Всё вме́сте бу́дет 1500 рубле́й.
– What do you want to do?
– I want to have my hair dyed, the roots are already showing. How much will it cost?
– The dye will be ours or you have your own?
– Yours.
– All together will be 1500 roubles.

– Hello, tell me please how much does a lady’s haircut with hairstyle cost?
– What length of hair?
– Below the shoulder.
– A haircut like that will cost 500 roubles, the blow dry with styling is 200 roubles.
Dialogue 8
– Вы хоти́те вы́мыть го́лову?
– Да. Помы́ть и вы́сушить фе́ном.
