041 – The Genitive case with feminine plural nouns

In the previous lesson we’ve learned how to form the Genitive case with masculine plural nouns. This time let’s look at the feminine plural nouns.

For feminine nouns ending in …

а -> drop а
… a consonant + я -> replace я with ь
… a vowel + я -> replace я with й
ь or ья -> replace with ей

есть луна́ – нет лун (moon)
есть гра́ница – нет грани́ц (boundary)
есть рука́ – нет рук (hand)
есть неде́ля – нет неде́ль (week)
есть ста́нция – нет ста́нций (station)
есть дверь – нет двере́й (door)
