Visiting a pharmacy
In one of the previous lessons we’ve already learned some basic Russian vocabulary related to health. Today we are going to learn more words and phrases that might come in handy in a pharmacy.
Useful words
апте́ка [aptyéka] – pharmacy, drug store
лека́рство [leekárstva] – medicine
табле́тка [tablyétka] – tablet, pill
порошо́к [parashók] – powder
мазь [mas’] – ointment, creme
спрей [sprey] – spray
ка́пли [káplee] – drops
боль [bol’] – pain
реце́пт [reetsépt] – prescription
принима́ть [preeneemát’] – to take (medicine) imperfective
приня́ть [preenyát] – to take (medicine) perfective
глота́ть [glatát’] – to swallow imperfective
втира́ть [fteerát’] – to rub imperfective
втере́ть [fteeryét] – to rub perfective
разводи́ть [razvadeét’] – to dissolve, to dilute imperfective
развести́ [razveesteé] – to dissolve, to dilute perfective
Useful phrases
Мне ну́жно лека́рство от головно́й бо́ли.
I need a medicine for a headache.
У вас есть обезбо́ливающие?
Do you have any painkillers?
Я хоте́л бы что-нибу́дь от ка́шля.
I’d like something for cough.
Что у вас есть от больно́го го́рла?
What have you got for a sore throat?
У вас есть что-нибу́дь от аллергии́?
Have you got anything for the allergy?
Могу́ я купи́ть антибио́тики без реце́пта врача́?
Can I buy antibiotics without a doctor’s prescription?
Как принима́ть это лека́рство?
How do I take this medicine?
Принима́йте э́то по одно́й табле́тке два ра́за в день по́сле еды.
Take it one pill twice a day after the meal.
Втира́йте мазь в ко́жу три ра́за в день.
Rub the ointment into the skin three times a day.
Разведи́те табле́тку в полстака́на воды́ пе́ред употребле́нием.
Dissolve the pill in a glass of water before taking it.
Пожу́йте табле́тку пе́ред тем, как глота́ть.
Chew the pill before swallowing.
